11.30am Sunday. After Mass we regularly gather for tea, coffee, cake and biscuits (depending upon who has been baking!) for half an hour to an hour, depending upon the spur of the moment. We also hold such social gatherings on high days and holy days after Special Mass, so at about 8.30pm, although these tend to be for half an hour rather than longer. Whilst most people have attended Mass, this isn’t a requirement and some parishioners simply pop in for the refreshment.
11 am Thursday. We hold a regular coffee morning every Thursday for about 45 minutes. You are welcome then to stay for the 12 noon Mass, or to leave, if you prefer. The Coffee Morning provides a splendid opportunity for drinks and biscuits and a good natter. A lot of people simply pop in for good company.
7.30pm Tuesday On the first Tuesday of the month, we hold a Bible Study, which is a chance for us all to gather and study different parts of the Bible stories together. It can be a lively occasion and is always most interesting. The discussion lasts about an hour. Check the latest newsletter for details, as this sometimes moves to the second Tuesday, if there is a conflicting Special Mass or meeting of the PCC.
Our largest community event is held on the last Sunday in June with The Blessing of the Fisheries. This is always followed by refreshment. Last year, we catered for over 150 people!
Please check our weekly newsletter for details of other community events. We always mark special occasions with a jolly party and often have a get together at special times of the year, such as Christmas.
