The first phase of the current restoration was recently carried out on the East Window under the provisions of the English Heritage Listed Places of Worship Scheme. The window was in need of urgent work, as it was corroded to the point of threatening to collapse onto the Priest as he celebrated Mass. The work was carried out with substantial support from the Roger de Haan Charitable Trust. However, this is simply one part of the required repairs. Since the English Heritage Scheme has now been replaced, further work will be carried out with their guidance, but with the support of the National Lottery.
