Project Description

Blessing of the Fisheries 2018

The Blessing of the Fisheries took place on Sunday 24th June 2018. The Fisheries were blessed by Hi s Grace, Justin Welby, The Archbishop of Canterbury, following the traditional procession from St. Peter’s Church. The Worshipful Town Mayor of Folkestone, Councillor Ann Berry, led the procession of the Cinque Port Mayors, several of whom were present.

With the Archbishop attending, we had an excellent turnout of Servers and Clergy from across the Town and the Diocese. The hymn singing was accompanied by the Simon Langton Band. After a return procession and short service in the Church, a great deal of refreshments were enjoyed by the multitude on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
